Amardeep Lakhtakia, CEO

Amar is a seasoned executive and has an excellent track record of identifying new opportunities. He brings over 20 years of corporate and start-up experience in the IT industry with product management, general management and business development responsibilities.

Before SherpaZ, Amar was the Senior Vice President of Patni Computers [NYSE: PTI]. He came to Patni through its acquisition of Cymbal Corporation - a boutique telecom consulting company - for $70 Million.

Previously, Amar co-founded Webify Solutions that was recently acquired by IBM for $110 Million. Webify pioneered On Demand Web-services based applications. He was responsible for all aspects of Products and lead the Financial Services vertical strategy. Before Webify, Amar co-founded AristaSoft Corporation, a leading ASP. He helped launch industry-focused solutions and formed over 20 strategic alliances including J.D. Edwards, Clarify, Webmethods, Microsoft and Deloitte & Touche.

Amar worked for a decade at Wipro [NYSE:WIT] and Tata Unisys in various management roles.

Amar is a frequent speaker, filed for patents and authored a book, From EDI to Electronic Commerce (McGraw Hill, 1996). He is a MBA from Indian Institute of Management and a B. Tech from Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences, Pilani, India.
